You look for conversation stuff? Like technical stuff oder just small-talk. If it is small-talk then this forum will be like the small-talk or "Geplaudere" Forum.
Due to the number of people who just speak/write German, I would say that the English speaking ones just write in the German threads... by that they will learn German and others will learn English... :)

Why is it such a big issue in the first place? Things like this are what keeps english speakers from writing......it is a international forum for BMW lovers....who care if it small talk? My original intention for asking for this was so that english speakers who cant speak any german at all can at least read and find out about Treffens and internal treffens and general chat. Technical stuff is good to, but most forums are not about just "technical" stuff. Even the tech forums have small talk in them.
The fact that we have more than one thread on it at all is justification enough.....man I get tired of trying to justify it. DO WE WANT TO BE INTERNATIONAL OR NOT???!!! We cant be international and have only one language oder?

Just because you have English doesnt make you International. There is still that little button on the top right corner that translates.

I think, it is better we use this forum here first for smalltalk, to get it bigger. We have here one big problem, we need a translatorlist for technic-parts:
radiator=Wasserkühler;
silencer=Endschalldämpfer;
exhaust-system=Auspuffanlage;
bonet-hinch=Motorhaubenschanier;
boot=Kofferraum
gearbox=Getriebe
engine=Motor
At all, we need a list,please help this international part here.

for the most part what you have is correct. But Americans dont tend to use proper English so:
The boot is what we call a Trunk.
Gearbox is the transmission.
Some of us that speak both languages can try to help in this area.

I know what you are saying I am just venting a little bit. I am just saying that the usage of the forum is not "poor". It has more threads than the international section of the forum i am usually on "www.bmwboard.com". This to me says a whole lot. And the fact that people who are not naturally english speakers are defending it. The more we put the word out the better.

I think the greatest problem we have is most of us can't explane greater problems in english. So I think we can use this Forum like the "Geplauder" to have a lot of small talk. And then, when there is a real problem, we all can try to find an answer.

I think that is the best "solution" for all concerned. Its an internet forum! We are supposed to talk about everything....we still love our BMW's even when we arent talking about them! I still love you guys!!!

what did you find out bout the rims? that engine that you found looks like it is in good shape. i went to the web page and he had some pics of things. is he saying that the extras are like the computer and exhaust? another ?? for the tranny can an older 320 tranny fit in it or do i need an E36 320 tranny? do you know if you are goign to go to the hockenheim ring show? later

i would like to go from a 318iS to a 325i or 328i.. the 320 is only 10ps more than what i have. im just trying to get ideas on what is out there to do to mein auto to get more power..
besides the discussion here don't hesitate to post your technical or general questions in one of the other forums..
for example the "motoren" forum (=engine).
There is a lot of knowledge about everything and this helps to get all our people together!
Of couse you can place your questions in english.. (maybe not to mcuh slang because this might be difficult for some German guys :o)
for sure you can place a "please answer in english" on buttom..
Just try it an you will be surprised what over 6000 members know about everything ;)
