I think it´s interesting, especially the opinions of people from foreign countrys... The reason, why I am a "BMW-fanatic": I love this brand since I can think (plz don´t say it´s not even been a long time since I can use my brain or something else =P). First Bimmer I can remember was a darkblue 81 e28 520i, the car of the parents of my best friend. Some years later, they gave it to us and I always wanted 2 drive that car when I´m 18 and when I got my driver license... But some moth**fu**** a**hol** have crashed drunken (we lost a lot of cars cauz we always got 2 or more cars and we got just one garage) into our beautiful Bimmer... I have cleaned and polished the e28 every Weekend... Another reason is, that I love the Design of nearly every Car from this brand. And the main reason: My lil bro (brauser) works as a mechanic (BMW)... :) sorry 4 incorrect grammar n spelling =P ________________________ Das Leben kann so schön sein... Autor: daphne Datum: 12.05.2004 Antwort: ---------------------------------------------------------- the first car i ever drove was a bimmer. i was ten or eleven and where i lived in malaysia we had an abandoned air strip. my dad took me there and i sat on his lap. he accelerated and braked and i was allowed to steer. after getting my licence with 19 i didn't have the money for a car and drove around with my parent's cars when i needed one. my dad has a sport mercedes with 193 ps. this year in feb i got my very first car. i wanted something that had at least the same amount of ps as my dad's car, as i was use to it and i wanted a bit of luxury like leather seats, abs, airbags, something nice and safe. but i didn't want something as bulky as a merz, but more sporty and compact. it was love at first site when i saw my black bmw convertible. since then all i see are bimmers and i've learnt quite a bit about cars as well. i couldn't be happier. http://www.zds-clan.com |

A 81 520. It was a real piece of crap. But it was only $100. Before I could do anything to it..:( it blew up on the Autobahn. I went thru about 5 other cars .. even bought a brand new one. Nothing lasted. Then in 94 I met up with the guys who brought me in to reality. They showed me the wish could come true and become a Wagon. So I got a 82 323. I wanted to move to a E-30 so we found and built one. A 325. note that the I (i) is missing. We put a 4 barrel carb on it. I know it was crazy but it was different. But being broke has in bad side so the car was taken. I didnt pay car insurance or have license plates on it. So after a while got another E-30. A '86 325. After I blew it up I tried the incredible. A 16V GTI GOLF. Last time I ever try that. Destroyed it trying to keep up with... A BMW!!! So I got another 325i maybe 85. Then a E-34 520. It was hot. had a lot of 2.5 parts on it. As we dont have to go thru TUV we did some crazy stuff and .. we still do. So I go a hot 4 dr Delphin metallic 325i. Had the drop, the rumble, the rims... but got hit by the enemy of the BMW... the Mercedes. So picked up a Black 2 dr and changed it all over. Of course took out the automatic transmission and went the the regular 5spd. dropped from a 3.73 to a 3.64. sold it and got my M5. That is my story. I like to give a shout out to all those involved in helping me develop and achieve the dream. DLB- DEREK L. The old E30's were the hot shit back then(they still are for those of you E30 fans out there...dont want to offend anyone). Everyone used to get nissan sentra's and the old civics and play "dress up" to get that look that most Bimmers had stock! Then I joined the Army in '92 and came to Germany in '93 at the age of 18 and moved to....you guessed it Bavaria home of the BMW. Right around then the new E36 body style was out and I wished I could get one but alas i could only look because I didnt have a drivers license and couldnt get one unless i went back to america...sigh...back to the magazine rack. Then I went to america and like an idiot bought a '88 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais....what the hell was I thinking?(hey they financed and it was cheap...at 19%interest!!!was young and didnt know). Anyway I eventually came back to germany and got a '84 opel kadett GTE, then the best car honda ever made a '86 Civic Crx 1.6il(quick car but low top end) and then my first bimmer a '88 325i. I got the bimmer in '99 but had to sell/giveaway it in '00 because i had to go back to states. Then i came back in '02 and had a Seat Toledo GT(good car)until I saved up money to by my one of my dreams a '99 E39 w/M-facelift in my favorite car color RED!!!!(imola rot).
