The steering wheel i´ve bought is from an e39 523i from 2001. Is it possible to install this steering wheel in my car?? It is ok to answer the question i german... |

It is important that you have a two-stage airbag (that was being built in since FEB 1999). So for your model it is no problem to use the steering wheel from 2001 (but I think you mean its from an E39 525i, because the 523i wasn't produced anymore since 09/2000). I have tried to search the forum for questions like mine, but because of my bad technical german, I dont understand half of the words I´m reading:-( I do think my car has a two-stage airbag. My e39 530d i produced in 9/99. How come the buttoms for volume control and cruise control wont work in my car? As far as I am told, I will have to wire about 3 wires from the steering wheel, 1 ground, 1 batt. and 1 for the I-bus. Isn´t that right? |
