I bought a non-CPO 2017 i3 REx about 6 months ago, and after hearing horror stories about 12v batteries dying on the i3 (and also on my Volt), I planned on getting it replaced soon.
Well, I've made an appointment to get the battery replaced at the dealership from which I bought it, and just for fun, I finally bought Bimmerlink. I connected to the car and pulled up the Battery screen, and this is what it displayed:
Battery Type: 20 Ah
Battery state of charge: 99%
Mileage last battery replacement: - (nothing, null, nada)
Mileage second last battery replacement: - (nothing here, too).
I assumed that the battery was stock since the car was "born" in May 2017. Do the above values tell me anything about the age of the battery? I assumed the stock 12v would have been registered at the factory. The label on the battery says "BMW", but I don't see a date. Does 99% mean that the battery is good now, but don't press your luck and just get it replaced?
